SalesForge CRM Privacy Policy

Introduction

DevSamurai, Inc. (“DevSamurai,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is the developer of SalesForge CRM: Leads, Deals & Customers Management for Jira (“SalesForge” or “the Application”).

This Privacy Policy Addendum explains how SalesForge interacts with Google user data when you choose to connect your Gmail account to the Application. It is intended to be read together with our primary Atlassian EULA and Privacy Policy, which applies to all DevSamurai products and services.

This addendum is designed to meet the requirements of the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements, and provides clear information about:

  • What Google data do we access?
  • How we use Google data,
  • How long we retain or delete it, and
  • The security measures we apply to protect it.

By using SalesForge and granting access to your Gmail account, you acknowledge and agree to the practices described in this addendum.

Data Accessed by Our Application

When you choose to integrate your Gmail account with SalesForge CRM, the Application requests a limited permission from your Google account:

  • Scope Requested: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send
  • Purpose of Scope: This authorization allows SalesForge to send emails on your behalf through the Gmail API.

Important Notes:

  • SalesForge does not access, read, or store your Gmail inbox, contacts, or metadata (such as headers, recipients, or timestamps).
  • The only data used is the information you explicitly provide (such as the subject line, recipient, and body of an email) when sending an email through the Application. This data is processed ephemerally and is never stored on our servers.

How do We Use Google User Data?

We use the granted Gmail permission solely to enable email sending functionality within SalesForge. Specifically:

  1. Purpose of Use
  • SalesForge uses your connected Gmail account only to send emails as part of CRM workflows in Jira.
  • Typical use cases include sending notifications such as automated updates, confirmations, or customer communications.
  1. Temporary Handling of User Content
  • The user-provided content of an email (e.g., subject line, recipients, and body text) is used temporarily to construct and deliver the message through the Gmail API.
  • This information is handled only during the sending process and is not stored, logged, or processed for any other purpose.
  1. No Secondary Use
  • Google user data is not accessed for analytics, profiling, or product development.
  • We do not use this data for marketing or advertising.
  • We do not share Google user data with third parties, except if required by applicable law.

Data Retention, Deletion, and Security

  1. Data Retention

SalesForge does not store Google user data on its servers. Any email content, including subject, body, and recipient information, is processed solely temporarily for the purpose of transmitting the email via the Gmail API and is not retained thereafter. As no Google user data is stored, no retention periods apply. Users retain full control over their Google accounts and may revoke SalesForge’s access at any time.

  1. Data Deletion

Since SalesForge does not permanently store any Google user data, there is no data to delete from our systems. If you decide to discontinue use of the Gmail integration, you may revoke SalesForge’s access to your Google account at any time. Once access is revoked, SalesForge will immediately cease to have the ability to send emails on your behalf.

  1. Data Security
  • All communication between SalesForge and the Gmail API is encrypted using industry-standard security protocols (TLS/SSL).
  • SalesForge applies the principle of least privilege, requesting only the minimal Gmail scope (gmail.send) required to provide the stated functionality.
  • DevSamurai is SOC 2 Type II certified, reflecting our commitment to the highest standards of security and privacy.

How DevSamurai Achieved SOC 2 Compliance?

User Control & Revocation

You have full control over your Google account and the permissions granted to SalesForge. You can revoke the application’s access in two ways:

  1. From SalesForge Settings: Within the application, you can disconnect your Gmail integration at any time. Here’s how to revoke access. Once disconnected, you can no longer use SalesForge to send emails from your Gmail account.
  2. From Google Account Settings: You can also revoke access directly from your Google Account permissions page.

Revoking access through either method will immediately disable SalesForge’s ability to send emails on your behalf. No further data will be accessed or processed once permissions are removed.
